Cocoa Beach Country Club

i am not one to review golf courses very often, but playing CBCC today was very disappointing. The fairways and rough are just atrocious. There is little grass and mostly weeds, clover and hard pan. They didn't overseed this winter so, the chipping areas around the greens are just hardpan or weeds. It is very telling that there are few ball washers. I encountered one where the lid was broken off and the drying towel was sun-rotted like it has not been replaced in a year. On the positive side, the greens roll nicely but are super-fast because there is no growth. On the River Course, it looks like they recently replaced the tee box sod but just outside those areas, it is grungy. We played the Lakes Course also, and the tee boxes were just dirt. It is really a shame. This course is a real gem with beautiful scenery. They can fix the greens and tee boxes but, the condition of the rest of the course overshadows that. The fairways and rough really need to be dug up and re-seeded. For the high winter rates, it is not worth playing. There are much better courses in the county for the same price or just a few dollars more. That all said, inexplicably, it was very busy. Go figure.

Visited today and was slightly disappointed. Paid a decent amount and all the tee boxes were moved. Not just slightly moved but at least 20 to 30 yards in front of normal red tee boxes. This was not noted on the website when I bought the tee time. Par 5's turned into almost par 3's. Really wish this was noted somewhere because I would love to play there again in the future.

Cocoa beach was very picturesque golf course it’s on the island and surrounded by water. We saw dolphins and alligators and all kinds of wildlife. The course is long , challenging it wasn’t in great condition but for the cost it wasn’t bad. Greens Road very well. They had a driving range. Starter was very friendly. Nice community course. We were able to walk.

Golf course is in rough shape. For the price who cares? I play there several times a week and its fine, just know its not country club level as the name implies. Its a muni course. Staff is friendly. Never had a complaint. The new manager I doubt has yet to go out and look at the course. Dan, the head pro, should have gotten the position, been there forever. He cares about the course, the city gets enough revenue from tourists and snow birds they can adjust the budget to get the course in top shape. There is zero reason for the course to be in bad shape. Only poor management. Don't blame the pro though, not his fault. Piece of advice, close the pool, its rarely open.

Most of the course is in very good condition. It's challenging without being frustrating. You have to lay up on some holes but playing smart golf is rewarded here. The greens look grainy but rolled very smoothly and the breaks were predictable once you got a few holes out. Price is good for this level of course. I would definitely play here again.
